A staple in the Nissan lineup since 1985, the Pathfinder is appropriately named for drivers looking forge their own path, both in life and on the off-roading trails. In need of a refresh, Nissan debuted an entirely new and modern Pathfinder for the 2022 model year. And for drivers in Ottawa and across Canada, it was worth the wait.

Models and Pricing
Nissan offers the 2022 Pathfinder in five model configurations in Orleans and across Canada: S, SV, SL, SL Premium, and Platinum. All are incredibly well-equipped, including the entry-level S model that starts at $43,798. It comes standard with a NissanConnect multimedia and infotainment system operated by an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. A 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, intelligent 4x4 system, and ProPILOT Assist suite of safety technologies also come standard on the S, as well as all other models.
Design
Nissan did not entirely scrap the Pathfinder's styling when it went about the 2022 redesign. The exterior still clearly shouts Pathfinder to all who see it, but in a more aerodynamically sculpted look. While before it seemed meek for a big vehicle, the Pathfinder is now confident and imposing with a bolder front end and new headlights and taillights. Rugged yet modern, its styling perfectly matches its capability.
Perhaps the most drastic change occurred inside the Pathfinder. With a striking dashboard design and top-quality materials, Nissan outdid themselves to bring luxury to every model of the 2022 Pathfinder. The luxurious interior features semi-aniline leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, and a panoramic sunroof for the comfort of both drivers and passengers.
Performance
A 3.5-litre V6 engine powers every model of the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder, delivering 284 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque. It offers 2,712kg worth of towing capability to allow drivers to haul trailers, campers, boats, and more off on an adventure. The Pathfinder also performs well in all conditions thanks to a standard Intelligent 4x4 system that offers seven driving and terrain modes.
Safety
Safety comes first for Nissan, and it proves that with all the standard driver-assist features found on the 2022 Pathfinder. First, it comes standard with Nissan's Safety Shield 360 suite of driver-assist technologies to provide a safer driving experience. These technologies are; intelligent emergency braking with pedestrian detection, rear intelligent emergency braking, rear cross traffic alert, blind spot warning, lane departure warning, and high beam assist.
Second, the Pathfinder features Nissan's ProPILOT Assist, which is a revolutionary autonomous driving system. It uses mapping technology to predict curves, interchanges, junctions, and more, adapting itself to the drive and keeping pace with the flow of traffic.
